Additionally, the benefit of using inflatable structures for projects overseas is the ease of transport, our largest structure that can accommodate some 1500 people will pack down to just a few large pallets meaning transport costs are far cheaper than traditional marquees or clear span structures that tend to have a minefield of poles and heavy PVC material all increasing weight and volumes for shipping.

Dryspace – Providing Inflatable Structures for UK and International Indoor and Outdoor Events

Dryspace Structures Ltd was inspired from travelling through the canals of France in 1999 and seeing a simple tarp being held up by 3 blowers in a yard covering a sailing boat. Within this simple structure it allowed maintenance to be carried out no matter what the weather condition.

From that, the seed was planted and on return to the UK there followed research for how the idea could be applied to promotional events. Rapid installation, cutting edge designs, easy transportation the checklist went on. The industry needed something different. Different to the traditional marquees that we had all seen and used, the inflatable structure solution remained and Dryspace Structures was born.

Since those early days we’ve forged a partnership alongside award winning designers offering over 20 years experience in designing air flow structures.

The priority has always been innovation, helping our clients to recognise the benefit of taking ideas forward to new levels and not simply adopting the sometimes expected and tired commercial solution that’s been on offer.

From reducing the wastage of materials to the efficiency of maximizing the effectiveness of our transport policy- are all actively supported as a way to increase our companies ‘effectiveness. Waste of resources and materials are the sign of a badly operating company.

This statement is not about saying that Dryspace is the ‘special one’ unfortunately when it comes to the environment none of us are the special ones.

We are 99% air, but find out a bit more of what we are about.

Materials

Dryspace uses the most appropriate materials to suit the nature and performance the structures will require to endure the rigors of outdoor use. Dryspace is not restricted by the types of fabrics we use, and work with natural fully recycled fabrics where appropriate.
Longevity of use will reduce the need to product decommissioning and allows Dryspace to operate a viable second hand market in our buildings further reducing the need to manufacture new all the time. Even much older well worn structures can find good homes on farms and paintball activity sites.

At the design stage and patterning stage we will be looking to maximise the use of all fabrics through our computerised nesting programs. Consideration to the material widths and lengths all affect our decision in the specific patterning for the structures.

Subject to the materials used we will be recycling them for re-use in other areas- or we will make bags and internal strapping with all the smaller off-cuts, which again will be considered at the design stage.

Transportation

Dryspace produces contemporary portable buildings. These buildings are designed to be lightweight and durable as possible. They all pack down to a fraction of their inflated useable size and such benefit from utilizing very small and light transportation methods.

For example small products such as OIAB can be taken as hand luggage on the bus or train. With the largest structure such as the 24m dome needing only a transit van for its basic packed down size. Imagine any other portable structure offering 365m2 of internal space fitting inside a medium sized van.  Dryspace also run a very efficient system for logging in all the structures, where they are being used and when they need collecting. Where possible all the structures will utilize main frame transport companies and when using our dedicated transport we ensure we use the van that best suits the size of goods to be moved. This reduces the need for using oversized vans to move small objects-all too common with inefficiency.

Energy

There are many ways to inflate structures we supply. The method of inflation will depend on the performance requirements of the building and how long it will be up for. As much as we ensure all of our structures are over engineered for the purposes they are designed for-we also need to ensure that we are not totally over engineering and creating other inefficiencies in their usage and power consumption.
